Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal

A Place of Faith, Hope, and Encounter

Saint Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal — the largest church in Canada, crowned by its landmark green dome.

As we celebrate the 70th Anniversary of Teams of Our Lady in Canada, it is fitting that we gather at one of the country’s most cherished spiritual landmarks: Saint Joseph’s Oratory of Mount Royal in Montreal.

Perched on the slopes of Mount Royal and overlooking the city, the Oratory stands as a powerful witness to faith, perseverance, and trust in God. Founded by Saint Brother André, whose simple yet unwavering confidence in Saint Joseph inspired millions, the Oratory has become a place of pilgrimage, prayer, healing, and hope for people from around the world.

For more than a century, countless pilgrims have climbed its steps carrying their joys, concerns, hopes, and sufferings. Here, generations of believers have encountered God’s presence and experienced the comforting intercession of Saint Joseph, patron of families, workers, and the Universal Church.
